Hilary Newiss

Board member

Hilary is an experienced non-executive Director in the fields of  science, innovation, creativity and health, particularly on the intersection between science and society continuing her lifelong interest in innovation and its translation to industry and benefit to society.

She currently Chairs the British Science Association and sits on the Boards of the Intellectual Property Office, the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult and English National Opera. Previously, she has served with several public and not for profit bodies including the Natural History Museum, Chair of National Voices (an umbrella group for 160 Health and Social Care charities), the Accelerated Access Collaborative and the Francis Crick Institute.

Hilary Newiss is a solicitor by profession and former partner in Dentons. She specialised in intellectual property law, including patents and data in life sciences.
