Dr Oliver Hale
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
About
Oliver is a post-doctoral research fellow in mass spectrometry at the University of Birmingham. He is seconded to the Rosalind Franklin Institute to establish the native ambient mass spectrometry (NAMS) platform that enables mass spectrometry imaging of intact proteoforms and their complexes. Oliver completed his PhD in Chemistry at the University of Reading, developing laser-based ionisation of complex biological samples for mass spectrometry analysis. He moved to the University of Birmingham for post-doctoral work in 2019 where he developed nano-DESI into a core technology for NAMS.
