About

Asfandyar is an MSCA Postdoctoral Fellow, with an interest in the isolation and biosynthesis of myxobacterial natural products—an area he began exploring in the group of Prof. Rolf Muller. At the Franklin, his research will focus on the structural elucidation of nonribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPSs) to understand how these large multienzyme machineries assemble a diverse range of peptides with large structural and functional diversity.
