About

Abner received his MSc degree in physics from the Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria, Lima, Peru. In 2017, as a PhD student, he joined the EMAT group from the University of Antwerp. His research has focused in the application of compressed sensing and related scan strategies in STEM imaging, mainly to overcome beam damage.

Aberration-corrected transmission electron microscope

Ruska is an aberration-corrected transmission electron microscope (TEM) used to explore novel methods to study radiation sensitive specimens such as biological materials that have been cryogenically preserved or encapsulated in liquid for dynamic observations.
