Haiyang He

PhD Student

Haiyang obtained his integrated Master’s degree in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry and a Year in Industry from Imperial College London. His final year project focused on the synthesis of silicon-centred catalyst for direct amidation reactions. Following this, he joined the Franklin as a PhD student in 2024.
He spent a year working with small molecules as a treatment for serious diseases at Vertex pharmaceuticals. In addition, he also completed a student project, which was about the synthesis of CF3 and CF2H drug molecules and the study of their ADME properties, such as cLogD, clearance and unbound fractions. He is excited to explore the various themes across the Franklin and to gain an understanding of the underlying biology of serious diseases.
