Timea joined the Rosalind Franklin Institute as Laboratory Manager for the High-Throughput Discovery Laboratory, having previously leading and designing high-throughput clinical diagnostic laboratories for testing infectious diseases (COVID-19, STD) at industrial companies, Perkin Elmer and Cignpost Diagnostics. As Cignpost R&D Technical Manager, she established various automated serum immunoassay platforms and molecular diagnostic technologies.
Timea has 15+ years’ experience in the academic sector. As post-doctoral scientist at the University of Oxford her research focused on the maintenance of genome integrity studying mechanisms in DNA replication and identifying novel players in DNA damage and repair, relevant to cancer and aging. Having completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Lincoln she became Lecturer teaching various genetics, biochemistry and molecular biology subjects and leading the undergraduate Animal Population Genetics module.
Timea is an experienced molecular and cell biologist. She completed her PhD in Prof Ann Harris’s laboratory at Oxford studying the biochemistry and function of mucins in CFTR and graduated with an MSc in Molecular Biology in Hungary.
